Progress was made today but things were discovered along the way that made it slow-going. Both Rick and his son were here today but Rick had to do some running around to pick up items needed for the drainage system. While he was gone, his son continued to dig around a drain pipe we are replacing and also dug a couple holes to put in place two new catch basins. One catch basin worked out, the other did not as it was discovered that there is a concrete slab coming off the garage/cottage going toward the bank. I think it may have been an old carport from many years ago. In any case, that changed the plan and Rick had to leave again to get the proper fittings he now needed to make things drain the way we have in mind.
The weather is looking pretty rainy for the next couple days so it may hinder progress for a bit.

| We had Rick cap off the drain you see here. It really wasn't serving a purpose. Must have been from a long time ago. |
 |
| This is where the concrete slab is located. We wanted a catch basin right where the down-spout ended and the plan was to have it tie into the drain coming from the well. But with the concrete, it's too shallow to put in the basin. |

| Looks like a nice pretty mess, doesn't it? |
 |
| The french drain will run alongside this concrete slab which is our driveway. |
 |
| So this was the fix - flexible drain pipe that ties together and will then flow into the new french drain. The new catch basin is at the top left of the "Y" (we wanted one there so that it's already in place when we begin working on creating better drainage in that area). And the right side of the "Y" is the drain that comes from our well when the tank back-flushes. They will both flow into the french drain alongside the concrete once it's in place. |

| That white PVC pipe is just standing there, it's the old one that was removed. |
